Stable Code of Conduct - Equestrian Facility

Together with our boarders and livery clients, we have established rules to ensure smooth and stress-free equestrian activities at Hofgut Albfuehren.

Stables

  • Please clean your horse’s hooves inside the box. Cleaning hooves in the stable aisle is only permitted if the area is cleaned afterward.
  • Grooming areas, solariums, and all tying facilities must be left clean for the next user.
  • At the wash bays, hair and manure must be removed after use (risk of drain blockage).
  • Stable quiet hours are from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.
Lights in the riding arenas and the horse walker are automatically switched off at 10.00 p.m.
  • Boarders who arrive after 10.00 p.m. in exceptional cases or load horses before 7.00 a.m. are kindly requested to register in advance with the night porter.
  • After riding, the last rider must turn off the lights in the stables, riding arenas, and horse walker.
  • Doors to heated rooms must remain closed at all times during winter.
  • If you require additional feed for your horse, please coordinate this with our stable staff.
  • At outside temperatures below -10°C, all windows and doors must remain closed. During this time, our stable staff will ensure regular shock ventilation.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the stables, riding arenas, and barns. Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly.
  • Use of paddocks is limited to two hours per horse per day.
  • Please exercise caution when handling stallions in the stables.
  • Mutual consideration is required in the stables and throughout the entire Hofgut Albführen estate.

Riding Arenas and Outdoor Arenas

  • Riding, lunging, and free exercise of horses in the arenas and outdoor facilities is done at your own risk.
  • General rule: left rein has right of way.
  • Consideration must always be given to the weakest rider in the arena.
  • Jumping is only permitted when wearing a riding helmet and is done at your own risk.
  • Outside of scheduled jumping times, obstacles in the small and upper indoor arenas must be returned to their designated storage areas after use.
Exception: The large jumping arena has a permanent course, which remains set up. Jumping riders have priority here.
  • When using jumps on the outdoor arena, obstacles must be rebuilt to their original dimensions and specifications afterward.
  • Poles and jump components must be placed back into the standards and not left on the ground.
  • When lessons are conducted by external trainers, care must be taken not to unnecessarily disturb other riders. The use of headsets is recommended.
There is no exclusive right of use for the riding arenas and outdoor arenas. This rule does not apply to HGA.
  • During winter mornings, young horses have priority in the small indoor arena.

Lunging

  • Lunging and free exercise are not permitted on the jumping arena or in the large jumping hall.
  • Lunging should preferably take place in the lunging circle within the horse walker. If occupied, lunging may take place in the small or upper indoor arena.
  • Lunging is only permitted if:

-no more than one rider is present in the small indoor arena

-no more than two riders are present in the upper indoor arena

  • Brief lunging of young horses for a maximum of 5 minutes is generally permitted.
  • Simultaneous lunging in two circles is only allowed if no other rider is present in or wishes to enter the arena.

Free Exercise

  • Free exercise of horses is only permitted in the small indoor arena.
  • Any holes created must be leveled with a rake after use.
  • Free exercise is only permitted under supervision.
  • General rule applies: Riding before lunging before free exercise.

Horse Walker

  • Use of the horse walker is at your own risk.
  • HOFGUT ALBFUEHREN GmbH assumes no liability for any injuries or damages incurred.
  • After lunging in the lunging circle, the intermediate door must be properly closed.
  • Use of the lunging circle is only permitted when the horse walker is not in operation.

Manure

  • Manure must be collected after riding, lunging, or free exercise and disposed of in the wheelbarrow.

Dogs

  • Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the entire property.
  • Dog waste must be picked up immediately.

Please respect nature and handle our resources with care.

Hofgut Albführen strictly rejects any improper training methods. The FEI Code of Conduct also applies at Hofgut Albführen.

We kindly ask all boarders to strictly observe the notice signs in the stables and riding arenas, especially the no-smoking policy!
