Caladetto was bred by us following a recipe for show jumping success and his jumping is close to perfection. This stallion seems to have unlimited ability combined with excellent leg technique and bascule.

The sire Calato is one of the most distinguished sons of Capitol I among the Holstein breed. He was trained for show jumping in the Warendorf Championships by Herbert Blöcker and successfully competed up to advanced level. Under the junior rider Jennifer Fogh Pedersen he won the Nordic and Danish Championships as well as Nations Cups with the Danish team.

Clausen under Holger Wulschner, Graziana 22under Toni Hassmann, Cöster under Christian Ahlmann and Callistro under Janne-Friederike Meyer are his most well-known progeny in show jumping.

Cöster was individual and team European Champion in 2003 and took team bronze at the Grand Prix in Aachen in 2006. Callistro was German Young Riders’ Champion in 2000 and 2002, silver medal winner at the European Championships for Young Riders and winner of the Grand Prix of Drammen and Cervia.

The dam Kassandra VIII is the full sister of Fine Kiss who became internationally successful under Gilbert Böckmann. Her sire Caletto I was one of the most successful show jumpers in the 1980s under Dr Michael Rüping.

Caletto I also made his mark as a sire of licensed stallions (including Camaro, Cantus and Cartusch). The licensed champion Leander, son of Ladykiller xx, brought even more refinement to the bloodline in the third generation and had a lasting impact in Holstein and in Hesse.

Caladetto represents the Holstein line 2472, which includes the licensed stallions Capanos (privately owned stallion Holstein), Cassandro I (privately owned stallion DK, licensing champion and internationally successful under Jerry Smit/ITA), Cassandro II (privately owned stallion Thuringia), Chekandino (privately owned stallion Oldenburg), Contender (privately owned stallion Oldenburg, Holstein Stud Book, winner of the stallion performance test), Casper B (privately owned stallion Saxony Anhalt), Cornetto (Holstein Stud Book, DK, SWE), Faschino (Holstein Stud Book), Gaugraf (state stud stallion Traventhal), Mambrino and Quirado, and the internationally successful show jumpers Think Twice under Leopold van Asten (NL) and Ulina under Susanne Behring.

Caladetto completed his 30-day test in Munich Riem in 2008 with outstanding marks in every respect.

He completed an equally first-class 70-day test in Schlieckau in 2009 where he scored above average in all criteria and ranked in the top third against strong competition.

In 2010, he was successful in show jumping competitions in his age group.

He had show jumping placings up to medium level in 2012 and 2013.
